See people for who they are, not who you want them to be.
Apart of the human experience is having hope that people will do better, be better, and fit perfectly into what we think our lives are supposed to be like.
Unfortunately, it doesn't always work that way.
Sometimes we have to take off the blinders we have due to history, love, or even pity and see people for who they truly are.
Every action they take is their responsibility and choice, and it's important that you don't make excuses when someone continually disregards and disrespects you.
At some point you have to accept the truth they present you with and act accordingly.
Sometimes it's a supervisor, a friend, or even a family member who you thought would always be there for you. Their loyalty had changed, so accept that and decide how you can move forward.
Not to be petty or get revenge, but to have peace. As a wise woman once said, “Truth is the only safe ground to stand on.”, and the truth is you deserve what you want to see. You may just have to find it in someone else.
