No Matter What

Motivation is fleeting. Discipline is key.

Discipline by definition is training to improve strength or self-control. Motivation on the other hand is the desire of someone to do something. The problem with motivation is that it is conditional. There are plenty of things that we don’t desire to do, but must do. Motivation requires too much in my opinion. It is based on emotion, not necessity. Also, unlike discipline it does not change you. Discipline forces you to become who you need to be in order to obtain the things you claim you want. In order to get to the next level, you can’t be the same person you are right now. So by doing what you need to do, you eventually build habits and they become apart of who you are. Discipline requires doing it until you feel like it, motivation simply asks for you to do it when you feel like it. And until you grab hold of discipline you will continue to be a slave of your emotions. Push forward and stop waiting to feel like it. Do it.
