It gets harder as you get closer.
I know this to be absolutely true but until I sat down to ponder on this I couldn’t figure out why. I mean if I’m walking in purpose and doing what I’m supposed to do shouldn’t it get easier? Then I realized why it was so hard. When you first begin walking in purpose the shoes are ill-fitting. Too big for your ego, too small for your worries. So then you’re required to shrink and gain humility. At the same time you’re required to grow and push through the crap that scares you and makes you want to cry. But you do it anyways. And that’s what gets you there. It’s supposed to be hard when you grow because growing gets you from close to THERE.
