Why do we until tragedy strikes before we decide to show compassion?
Last week I was really disappointed in myself and I’ll tell you why. My coworker’s mom had been sick for some time and he was finally told that she would go into hospice care. So I found myself going out of my way to be kind. I also took the liberty of letting others know that they too should take extra care in being kind as well. Then I became extremely disappointed and asked myself, "Why are you not doing that all the time? Why aren’t you being compassionate and going above and beyond to show someone love?" Why are you waiting for tragedy to strike? Be kind today. Go the extra mile today. You don’t need a reason. We are all experiencing or have experienced tragedies - that’s a fact. Stop waiting. Stop reacting. Let’s be proactive in taking that extra care today.
