When your feelings begin to betray you, focus on the work instead.
I said this to my best friend during a phone conversation when I was on my way home from a very long day. Things just weren’t going my way and I was so frustrated with a lot of things that I became unmotivated and even a little sad. So what did I do? I acknowledged my feelings and then went to work. When motivation does not serve you, discipline will and you have to know when is the right time for either. Stop waiting to feel motivated and focus on what you can control which is completing simple tasks to get you closer to your goals.
Your task for today: make a list of things you need to do. All of them. List them by importance or due date, NOT EASE. That way you’ll have a roadmap — even when your emotions are running haywire.
